GTA V with Lutris under Linux
I wanted to install GTA V via Lutris under Linux and had some issues - sound in particular.
Situation
My System at the time:
- Ubuntu 20.04
- AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
- NVIDIA RTX 2060
Prerequisites:
- Lutris installed
- Epic Game Store installed in Lutris
- GTA V installed via Epic Game Store
In my case the installation went through but the first few starts crashed.
However it worked about about 3 retries to start it and then started consistently.
In game I realized there's no sound.
I found this article, which helped me:

In my case I had to install DirectX again.
Install DirectX for GTA V
Add a new application to Lutris, call it DX_GTAV, make it a Wine application.
For the executable navigate to the GTA V installation folder (you chose it yourself during game installation).
There you find the file
Redistributables/DirectX/DXSETUP.exe
As the working directory, give it everything but the EXE file. Like
[your-gta-location]/Redistributables/DirectX/
Start DX_GTAV.
The DirectX installation dialog will open. Simply click through. After that sound worked for me. Do not deinstall DX_GTAV.
